Sec. 03 / Reverse Logistics & Returns

Simplifying the Reverse Supply Chain

Returns, overstocks, shelf pulls, and discontinued merchandise can quickly consume valuable resources. Our reverse logistics solutions help retailers, manufacturers, and distributors efficiently manage the flow of products back through the supply chain — while maximizing recovery opportunities. We manage every stage of the process: transportation, inspection, sorting, consolidation, and final disposition.

01 Customer Returns Processing Inbound returns received, inspected, and routed.
02 Retail Returns Management Store and DC return flow consolidation.
03 Product Inspection & Evaluation Condition grading and disposition coding.
04 Return-to-Vendor Programs Coordinated RTV freight and documentation.
05 Excess Inventory Handling Surplus and overstock processed at scale.
06 Consolidation & Redistribution Aggregating volume across sources.
07 Liquidation Coordination Channel placement into wholesale liquidation.

By creating efficient recovery pathways for returned and surplus products, we help businesses reduce costs, improve operational efficiency, and recover value from inventory that might otherwise become a loss.

Sec. 04 / Value-Added Processing

Sec. 05 / Recovery & Sustainability

Recover More Value. Reduce More Waste.

Not all inventory belongs in a landfill. We help businesses develop responsible and profitable disposition strategies for excess, obsolete, returned, and unsold inventory. Leveraging our expertise in logistics, secondary markets, textile recovery, and liquidation channels, we create customized recovery programs that maximize value while supporting sustainability goals.

When inventory reaches the end of its primary sales cycle, we help determine the most effective path forward — whether that’s resale, redistribution, recycling, export, or responsible disposal. The goal is simple: recover the highest possible value from every asset while minimizing waste and supporting a more sustainable supply chain.

Sec. 06 / Featured Program

USA for UNHCR Gift-In-Kind Refugee Aid Distribution

Over a two-year engagement, Salvage Trading served as the U.S. fulfillment partner for the Gift-In-Kind (GIK) program operated by USA for UNHCR — the U.S. arm of The UN Refugee Agency. We coordinated inbound freight from contributing brands, including Patagonia and KUHL, into our facility, where product was received, sorted by SKU, inventoried, packaged, and shipped to refugees worldwide.

Across the program, the team processed and shipped more than 700,000 pieces of clothing — every unit SKU-tracked from inbound to outbound, every shipment routed to the destinations specified by USA for UNHCR. We built and operated the full reverse-fulfillment chain, from receiving dock to the final container leaving the U.S.

Sec. 07 / Proprietary Technology

Salvage Trading Inventory System (STIS)

The recycling and fiber industries operate on weight — material is purchased by the pound and invoiced by the pound. Off-the-shelf inventory systems aren’t built for catch-weight operations, and the few that are come at enterprise-only pricing. So we built our own.

STIS — the Salvage Trading Inventory System — handles both catch-weight (by the pound) and piece-count (by the unit) inventory natively. Originally built for textile and fiber operations, it was further extended for the UN UNHCR program where piece-count precision was required. Today the system tracks every load, every item, every receiving report, and every shipping report — giving partners full visibility and documentation across the operation.

Capabilities
  • 01Catch-Weight Inventory (lb)
  • 02Piece-Count Inventory (unit)
  • 03Load-Level Tracking
  • 04Item-Level Tracking
  • 05Receiving Reports
  • 06Shipping Reports
  • 07Full Audit Trail
  • 08Custom Reporting
  • 09Multi-Project Data
  • 10Real-Time Visibility
